2 held over P680K fiber cable theft in Rizal


RIZAL — Two men were arrested after they were allegedly caught loading about four kilometers of fiber optic cable worth an estimated ₱680,000 into a vehicle in Teresa town, police said.
The incident occurred along Roman Roxas Road in Barangay May-Iba early Tuesday.
Initial investigation showed that a representative of a communications company saw several individuals allegedly loading the fiber optic cable into a red Isuzu Elf.
Police said four suspects fled when the complainant arrived, while two others were apprehended.
Authorities recovered approximately four kilometers of fiber optic cable valued at ₱680,000 and the vehicle allegedly used in the incident.
Police are preparing appropriate charges against the arrested suspects while efforts to identify and locate the four others are continuing.
