TANZA, Cavite — A 40-year-old businessman was wounded in an alleged exchange of gunfire with another man inside a subdivision in Barangay Sahud-Ulan on Saturday, 26 September.
Police said the shooting occurred around 12:40 p.m. at Villa Juanita Subdivision following a confrontation between the victim and the suspect, both residents of the area.
Initial investigation showed that the victim had gone several times to the vicinity of the suspect’s residence while looking for a person identified only as “Boy.”
During one of his visits, the victim was allegedly carrying a firearm while shouting and banging on the gate. The occupants of the house reportedly did not respond.
Police said a confrontation broke out when the victim returned for the third time, resulting in an alleged exchange of gunfire. The victim was hit in the abdomen.
The suspect fled after the incident and remained the subject of a police manhunt.
Investigators have interviewed possible witnesses and begun reviewing CCTV footage. Police also launched dragnet operations to locate and arrest the suspect.
