Aboitiz Foods’ rapid relief response aids over 2,000 families in flood-hit provinces

‘When communities face difficult circumstances, coming together allows us to respond where support is needed most.’
Aboitiz Foods’ CSR and sales teams, Philippine Army (PA) officers, local government units (LGUs) volunteers, and community partners have mounted a rapid relief response to help 2,220 families affected by severe flooding caused by the southwest monsoon (habagat) in the provinces of Tarlac, Pampanga and Pangasinan.
Through Aboitiz Foods’ subsidiary Pilmico Animal Nutrition Corporation (Pilmico), essential food, water and hygiene supplies were distributed in 17 communities in Tarlac City, Paniqui and Bamban in Tarlac; Mexico, Pampanga; and Bayambang, Pangasinan, with support from Pilmico’s agricenters on 3 to 11 September.
In Tarlac, assistance reached families in four barangays and sitios, as well as in two evacuation sites. In Mexico, Pampanga, relief packs were distributed across eight barangays, while 300 persons with disabilities in Bayambang, Pangasinan received grocery items.
Relief packs included rice, eggs, other food and grocery items, hygiene kits and bottled water. The PA provided logistical support and transport for ground distribution in several communities.
For Aboitiz Foods, the response reflects its values of teamwork and responsibility — bringing together employees, government partners and communities to respond to needs on the ground.

Local government partners, who helped ensure smooth coordination and facilitated the distribution to their respective communities, expressed their appreciation for Aboitiz Foods’ support.
“Our heartfelt thanks to the Aboitiz Foundation and its partners, including Pilmico, for your compassion and for extending assistance to our fellow residents,” Councilor Ralph Allyne Mendoza of Barangay Apulid, Paniqui, Tarlac, said in a Facebook post. “Your relief efforts have been a tremendous help, especially to families who need immediate support during times of disaster.”
“Many, many thanks to Aboitiz Foods for bringing your relief operations here to Barangay San Nicolas. This support has been a great help to our community,” said barangay captain Bryan Yutoc of San Nicolas, Mexico, Pampanga.
Aboitiz Foods’ disaster relief efforts will continue with a planned next phase in San Marcelino, Zambales, where Pilmico is coordinating with the LGU to provide assistance to 500 families in remote and far-flung communities.
