Police arrested a 32-year-old tricycle driver and confiscated an unlicensed .45-caliber pistol during a raid in Barangay Sta. Ana, Taguig City.

Officers from Taguig City Police Sub-Station 4 and the Station Intelligence Section executed a search warrant around 6:30 p.m., targeting the suspect known by the alias Edison.

The warrant was issued by the executive judge of Taguig City Regional Trial Court Branch 69 over alleged violations of Republic Act 10591, the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act.

Search teams recovered a .45-caliber handgun lacking a serial number, a magazine, four live rounds of ammunition and a holster from the residence.

Police officials stated that officers marked, photographed and inventoried the evidence at the scene with witnesses present.

Responding personnel recorded the raid using body-worn cameras and alternative video recording equipment in line with standard protocol.

Following the arrest, officers brought the suspect to the Taguig-Pateros District Hospital for a medical evaluation before transferring him to the police station’s Investigation and Detective Management Section.

The recovered weapon was submitted to the Southern Police District forensic unit for ballistic testing and cross-matching procedures. Police are also checking records with the Regional Civil Security Unit to verify whether the suspect holds any firearm license or carry permit.
