President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.’s nationwide Unified 911 emergency response system responded to 96.38 percent of 86,614 incident calls within five minutes during its first year, Philippine National Police chief Gen. Jose Melencio Nartatez Jr. said Saturday.

The system recorded 494,338 emergency-service calls from 1 August 2025 to 31 August 2026. Of these, 132,232, or 26.74 percent, were classified as legitimate calls, while the rest were categorized as prank calls, other calls or calls requiring different handling.

The system logged 223,253 prank calls, 138,853 calls classified as others, 80,247 calls that prompted responses, 36,995 requests for medical assistance and 14,990 fire-related incidents.

Of the 86,614 incident calls monitored by the PNP across regional police offices and units, 96.38 percent received a response within five minutes, while 3,077 responses exceeded the benchmark.

Public-order disturbances accounted for the largest share of incident calls at 29,746, followed by 21,615 traffic-related incidents and 15,517 other law enforcement and judicial matters.

The system also recorded 10,637 public safety and emergency response calls, 4,484 involving crimes against persons and 3,690 involving crimes against property, along with calls involving firearms and violence, illegal drugs and illegal gambling.

The Unified 911 was launched nationwide on 11 September 2025. It provides a single emergency access point and has expanded to nine command centers nationwide.
