A familiar Manila landmark is set to welcome a new generation of mallgoers as Harrison Plaza returns in a new form.

Let’s talk about the unsung hero of your skincare routine — one you can’t see, rarely think about and yet is everything when it comes to that lit-from-within glow.
We’re talking about the skin barrier, the outermost layer of the skin and one of its most important lines of defense. It helps keep moisture in while keeping everyday irritants out, from pollution and changing weather to harsh products and over-exfoliation.
Think of it as your skin’s personal bouncer. When it’s healthy, skin tends to look plump, smooth and calm.
But when it’s compromised, the signs can be harder to ignore: tightness, redness, flaking, rough patches and increased sensitivity.
When your skin barrier needs help
The skin barrier is often described as a “brick-and-mortar” structure.
Skin cells act as the bricks, while lipids such as ceramides work like the mortar that holds everything together.
When those lipids are depleted, moisture can escape more easily, leaving skin feeling dry and vulnerable. Over-cleansing, harsh active ingredients, extreme weather and simply putting your skin through too much can all contribute to a weakened barrier.
You might notice that your usual products suddenly sting, your skin feels tight even after moisturizing or your complexion looks dull and uneven. Sometimes, it can even show up as an oily T-zone paired with dry cheeks.
The answer, however, isn’t necessarily adding more products to your routine. Sometimes, your skin simply needs a reset and the right barrier-supporting ingredients.
A four-dimensional approach
This is where Vaseline Pro Derma comes in. Developed with skin experts, the range takes a four-dimensional approach to skin barrier care: replenish, strengthen, balance and protect.
But why add it to your routine?
For starters, the Moisturising Repair Cream is made for those days when your skin feels like it has officially had enough. It supports the skin barrier while keeping skin moisturized for up to 72 hours+. It is also dermatologically tested and suitable for sensitive skin.
First, it gives your skin serious hydration. The formula contains a 5 percent Pro-Ceramide Complex to help replenish the lipids that support the skin barrier, while hyaluronic acid helps lock in moisture. A prebiotic essence also helps support the skin’s natural defenses. Basically, it’s giving your skin the hydration it needs without making your routine feel like a 10-step commitment.
Second, the texture is actually fun. The cream has a “snowmelting” quality that transforms at the skin’s natural 37°C temperature from a rich cream into a silky, hydrating serum. It melts into the skin and absorbs without that heavy, greasy feeling. Plus, it’s fragrance-free, making it a good option for sensitive or fragrance-sensitive skin.
Lastly, it’s made for barrier recovery, not just a quick glow. Used twice daily, the formula was shown in clinical testing to increase hydration by more than 82% and improve the skin’s moisture-locking ability within two weeks.
So if your skin has been feeling dry, rough, tight or unusually sensitive, this is less about covering up the problem and more about giving your barrier the support it needs.
