The Aboitiz Foundation is strengthening partnerships with the League of Municipalities of the Philippines (LMP) and the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) to bring education, livelihood and sustainability programs closer to communities nationwide.

Under its partnership with the LMP, the foundation will work with municipalities to identify communities where its flagship programs — AuroraPH, Elevate AIDA and CarbonPH — can create lasting impact.

The LMP will serve as an institutional bridge between its member municipalities and the Aboitiz Foundation by facilitating coordination, identifying potential program sites, organizing consultations and orientations, and encouraging appropriate local support.

The programs seek to address community needs, including access to power, connectivity and digital learning in underserved schools through AuroraPH; digital skills and livelihood opportunities through Elevate AIDA and AIDA Plus; and environmental resilience through Nature-based Solutions under CarbonPH.

“Municipalities are where development is most directly felt by our people. By connecting local governments with programs, expertise, and partners, we can help turn national initiatives into tangible opportunities for communities,” said LMP national president Faustino “Inno” Dy V.

Meanwhile, the Aboitiz Foundation has strengthened its partnership with TESDA to create clearer pathways from skills training to employment through AIDA Plus.

The foundation, TESDA Regional Office VII, Cebu Call Center Academy and Visayan Electric recently formalized the partnership through a memorandum of agreement. The partners also held a roundtable discussion on aligning training programs with industry requirements and employment opportunities.

AIDA Plus builds on Elevate AIDA, the foundation’s digital skills and livelihood program developed with Connected Women. The expanded program focuses on moving participants from digital skills training toward employment by providing industry-relevant capabilities and access to job opportunities.

“Our partnership for AIDA Plus is about making sure that skills training leads to real opportunities. By working with Aboitiz Foundation, Visayan Electric, Cebu Call Center Academy, and our industry partners, we can better align training with the skills employers actually need and give our learners stronger pathways to certification and employment,” said TESDA VII regional director Gamaliel B. Vicente Jr.

For Aboitiz Foundation president Ginggay Hontiveros-Malvar, the partnerships demonstrate how collaboration between government and the private sector can expand programs and respond to community needs.

“Creating lasting impact requires strong partnerships that bring together the reach of government, the capabilities of the private sector, and a shared understanding of what communities need,” Hontiveros-Malvar said.

She added that the partnerships provide a pathway to scale programs that have worked and reach more communities across the country.

The foundation said the collaborations aim to improve access to education, strengthen pathways to jobs and livelihoods, and help build more resilient municipalities.
