Three international flights were canceled at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport on Saturday due to airspace restrictions in the Middle East, the New NAIA Infra Corp. said.

The canceled flights included Philippine Airlines flights PR658 from Manila to Dubai and PR659 from Dubai to Manila.

Cebu Pacific flight 5J019 from Dubai to Manila was also canceled due to the restrictions.

Meanwhile, two Air Canada flights — AC017 from Vancouver to Manila and AC018 from Manila to Vancouver — did not operate as scheduled.

The airline said the cancellations were due to the lean travel season and efforts to optimize fuel costs.

Overall, three arrival flights and two departure flights were affected by the cancellations at NAIA on Saturday.
