“I feel like that’s just something I like to throw on when I don’t feel like dressing up too much,” Cruz told DAILY TRIBUNE.
For her, the perfect everyday bag is one that combines practicality with style. She said she gravitates toward spacious designs because they allow her to carry her essentials without sacrificing her look.
“My perfect everyday bag would have to be my Romy Bucket (Tory Burch) or any bag that fits a lot of things,” she said. “I love that it’s spacious and it’s stylish and very versatile.”
Among the items she always carries is something that reflects a quieter side of her personality — her Kindle. Cruz revealed that she enjoys reading and is currently immersed in fantasy novels, particularly the third book of Sarah J. Maas’ A Court of Thorns and Roses.
“It’s so good. I’m actually like on a, I’m locked in,” she said about her current read.
Although she has not explored much science fiction, Cruz recalled reading Project Hail Mary before its film adaptation, showing her interest in stories that transport readers to different worlds.
More than just an accessory, Cruz sees her bag as a reflection of who she is. When asked what her bag would say about her if it could tell a story, she described herself as someone who likes to stay prepared.
“I think something like, I like to always be prepared. I always want to have almost every essential in my bag,” she said.
Her everyday must-haves include her phone, wallet, earphones, makeup pouch and Kindle — items that allow her to stay ready wherever the day takes her.

“Make sure that it has good quality and that it can last years, and that it’s versatile, so it can match any outfit, almost any outfit,” she advised.
