Some 13,441 applicants have been cleared by the Supreme Court’s (SC) Office of the Bar Confidant (OBC) to take the 2026 Bar examinations.
The OBC released the names of those cleared from 14,291 applicants, making this year’s registration the highest in Bar history.
The 2026 Bar examinations will be held 6, 9 and 13 of September at 15 testing centers nationwide.
The SC designated San Beda College Alabang in Muntinlupa City as the national headquarters for the examinations.
The subjects and their corresponding weights are Political and Public International Law, 15 percent; Commercial and Taxation Laws, 20 percent; Civil Law and Land Titles and Deeds, 20 percent; Labor Law and Social Legislation, 10 percent; Criminal Law, 10 percent; and Remedial Law, Legal and Judicial Ethics, with Practical Exercises, 25 percent.
For the 2026 Bar examinations, Associate Justice Samuel Gaerlan will serve as chairperson.
In 2025, 13,193 applicants registered for the Bar examinations, with 11,420 taking the tests. A total of 5,594 examinees passed, yielding a passing rate of 48.98 percent. Associate Justice Amy Lazaro-Javier served as chairperson.
