BAGUIO CITY — Mayor Benjamin Magalong responded to online videos posted by two vloggers accusing him of focusing on outside issues rather than addressing the welfare of local residents.
Magalong said city residents are well aware of local government operations, pointing specifically to municipal actions during recent heavy rains, landslides and other natural disasters that hit the mountain city.
He stressed that the city administration did not neglect individuals affected by a landslide in Barangay Guisad Surong or those impacted by recent monsoon rains.
The mayor raised concerns over the content published by two social media accounts, “Pings tv 2.0” and “Beast Mode Time,” pointing to what he described as a coordinated pattern behind the videos.
He cited that both creators used similar scripts in their respective posts, raising questions regarding the motivation behind the published content.
Magalong questioned why resources were being spent to damage his reputation, suggesting political motives or fear of ongoing city initiatives may be driving the online attacks.
