First Lady Liza Araneta-Marcos announced on her official Facebook account that she will go on a sabbatical ahead of her birthday on 21 August.
“Excited to start my birthday sabbatical. No makeup, no hairspray, no terno, no heels, no speeches, no official photos, no meetings, no schedule, no stress,” Mrs. Marcos wrote.
Based on her post, the First Lady’s sabbatical will be for one week.
“Just me and Mother Nature. Time to slow down, recharge, and enjoy the quiet. Stay safe and dry, everyone! See you next Monday,” she said, accompanying the post with a photo of herself in a garden at Malacañang.
The First Lady has been helping President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. distribute 10 kilos of rice to beneficiaries under the “Bawat Bayan Makikinabang” rice distribution program.
On 14 August, she visited the STI West Negros University in Bacolod City to distribute rice.
“It felt so good to be back in Bacolod — a place that will always feel like my second home. My roots run deep here. My father and his family — Araneta, Ledesma, Yulo and all those Negrenses — grew up here, and so coming back always feels like coming home,” Mrs. Marcos said.
“Damo nga salamat for welcoming me with your warm smiles, open arms, and even warmer hearts,” she added.
