CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY —Authorities in Bukidnon province are searching for a suspected thief caught on security footage stealing goats along a highway and loading them into an SUV, police said Tuesday.
The theft occurred Monday morning in Barangay Anahaon, Maramag. Raymond Atol, a local compound caretaker, reported two goats missing after finding his animals gone from their roadside grazing area.
Surveillance video showed a suspect parking a Toyota Innova near the compound, pretending to relieve himself, and then snatching two goats before driving off. Police submitted the footage to the Land Transportation Office to trace the vehicle’s registration.
The incident follows the recent arrest of two suspected livestock thieves in neighboring Malaybalay City, where officers caught the men fleeing on a motorcycle with a stolen goat.
