Police are looking into jealousy and a possible crime of passion as the motive behind the killing of an overseas Filipino worker whose mutilated body was found in an advanced state of decomposition near a creek in a pineapple plantation in Libona, Bukidnon.

Police Capt. Edwin Tabequero, officer-in-charge of the Libona police station, identified the victim as Fritz Quijanoloa, 31, of Barangay Poblacion.

Tabequero said Quijanoloa was last seen alive on 26 July, when she left their house with two other men. She later went missing along with her live-in partner, who is now considered a person of interest in the case.

Workers at a pineapple plantation reported the gruesome discovery near a creek in Field 11, Barangay Poblacion.

Tabequero said the victim was initially mistaken for a man because of the advanced state of decomposition. Relatives later identified the body as that of Quijanoloa through a tattoo on her arm.

The victim was found naked and with mutilation injuries, police said.
