LAND CRUISER owners celebrate generations of Toyota off-road vehicles at the three-day gathering.
HILUX enthusiasts display their modified pickups and share their passion for the long-running Toyota nameplate.
Toyota Motor Philippines is bringing owners, enthusiasts and aftermarket groups together for its first Toyota Legacy Experience at Eton City Square Village Walk in Santa Rosa, Laguna.
The three-day gathering runs from 31 July to 2 August. It gives the public a chance to see Toyota vehicles from different periods, meet members of local car clubs and try two of the brand’s newest models.
Toyota will offer public test drives of the all-new Land Cruiser FJ and Hilux on asphalt and off-road courses. The two routes should allow visitors to compare how the vehicles perform on a regular surface and over rougher terrain.
The Land Cruiser FJ is the smaller member of the Land Cruiser range. It keeps the boxy shape and four-wheel-drive hardware associated with the nameplate. The latest Hilux, meanwhile, continues Toyota’s long-running pickup line with a redesigned body and new features.
Car clubs will provide much of the event’s community character. The participating groups include the Land Cruiser Club of the Philippines, FJ Cruiser Owners Philippines, Grupo Toyota, Aesthetics Toyota and Hilux Club PH.
Performance-oriented models will also have their own representatives through GR Supra PH, GR Yaris PH, 86 Club PH and the GR Corolla community.
Other participants include TMP Car Club, Car Friends, JDMUnderground Philippines, Hardcore Outdoor and Slapsoil Car Club.
Their displays will give visitors a look at how owners preserve, restore or modify their vehicles. The selection is expected to cover off-road builds, performance cars and everyday Toyota models.
It also gives people who are considering joining a club an opportunity to meet current members.
Toyota and the participating groups will hold activities throughout the weekend. Visitors can also receive event giveaways, subject to the mechanics of each activity.
The Tamaraw Food Park will provide a place to eat and take a break between the vehicle displays and programs.
Registration opens at 10:30 a.m. on the first day. Car club introductions follow at 10:40 a.m., while public test drives begin at 2 p.m. The opening-day program ends at 7 p.m.
Registration starts at 9 a.m. on the second and third days. Car club, aftermarket and aftersales presentations are scheduled at different times during both days. A token-awarding activity will take place at 11 a.m. on the final day.
Test drives end at 6 p.m. each day, while the venue’s public program closes at 7 p.m.
The Toyota Legacy Experience turns the usual vehicle display into a broader gathering built around the people who own, maintain and modify the cars.
New models may draw visitors to Santa Rosa, although the older vehicles and the stories behind them could keep enthusiasts there longer.
