Honda Philippines Inc. has produced its 10-millionth motorcycle, more than 53 years after it began local assembly in Parañaque.

The milestone unit was a Click125 Smart Edition in Pearl Arctic White. It rolled off the production line at the company’s factory in Batangas in September.

Honda marked the occasion through a ceremony at the plant. Company officers joined employees, dealers, suppliers and other partners who have supported its motorcycle operations in the country.

The Click125 has become one of Honda’s familiar scooters in the local market. The model also contributes to the company’s production for domestic sales and export.

Honda started motorcycle production at its first Philippine factory in May 1973. It took almost 32 years for the company to reach its first million units in February 2005.

The company transferred production to its Batangas factory in April 2006. Output reached two million units in April 2008 and three million in February 2011. The five-million mark came in September 2016.

Production has risen at a faster rate in recent years. Honda reached seven million units in August 2022, followed by eight million in April 2024. The ninth million came off the line in August 2025, just over a year before the latest milestone.

Honda Philippines president Takeshi Kobayashi credited customers and the company’s network of dealers, suppliers and business partners. He also recognized several generations of employees who worked on the motorcycles produced at the two factories.

“This milestone of 10 million units was not achieved by Honda Philippines alone,” Kobayashi said.

He added that the company plans to support job creation and employee development as its operations grow with the local motorcycle industry.

Honda Motor Co. executive managing officer Minoru Kato said customer expectations now place more attention on safety, convenience and environmental impact. He said the 10-millionth unit could serve as the starting point for Honda Philippines’ next stage of growth.

Koji Sugita, senior vice president of motorcycle business at Asian Honda Motor Co., also pointed to the Philippine operation’s role in Honda’s regional supply network. 

Honda Philippines produces motorcycles for the domestic market and supports mutual supply among Honda operations in Asia and Oceania.

Honda said it will continue to develop its manufacturing operations after the 10-million milestone. Its next production chapter will depend on how well its motorcycles meet the changing needs of local riders and other markets served by the Philippine factory.
