The name Diana Ang-Uy is no stranger in the local food industry. For the longest time, she was one of the top caterers in the metro, especially for wedding receptions and anniversary celebrations. People say that if you want to make it big in the food industry, you have to have a genuine love and heart for cooking — and she has always loved cooking. She loved good food, and she admired people who are able to make people happy with the food that they cook. And so she wanted to be one of them.

So, even at a young age, Diana already knew what career path she wanted to pursue after college. While some students enter college still contemplating on what degree they want to earn, Diana already knew she wanted to pursue her love for cooking. She took up a course that would lead her right to it — Hotel and Restaurant Management (HRM) — finished it at St. Paul College in 1991, and plunged into it almost immediately after finishing school. She founded Po Diana Food Services Inc. and operated from home as what she calls “a one-woman, home-based catering operation.”

The young lady slowly but steadily grew her catering business until she felt that it was time to take a bigger and bolder step and finally venture into full-fledged catering services by putting up What’s Cookin’ Kitchenette Co. It turned out to be a defining moment in her entrepreneurial career, and there was no turning back once she began. One major catering venture came after another, all of which she and her team successfully pulled off, and soon the business was growing and diversifying into the various segments of the catering and food service industry. For a time, it also owned and operated restaurants and canteens as well as managed concessions for various companies and institutions.

Along the way, Diana still found time to develop food products, such as her famous Crispy Tuyo Flakes, which she bottled and sold because there was a strong demand for it. It was an awesome product, because she did not only sell it as a ready-to-eat gourmet tuyo product in bottled form but also used it heavily in her catering operations. She cooked pasta with it, for one, and this Crispy Gourmet Tuyo Pasta became one of the favorite dishes customers would pick for their catering menu.

So, when Diana later on decided to pause her catering business due to its demands on her time and the challenges that the industry naturally faces, she focused on her bottled Crispy Tuyo Flakes business and developed other ready-to-eat and ready-to-cook food products as well.

Now, Diana is back with a new brand, which is Simply Delish!, and an impressive line of gourmet ready-to-cook and ready-to-eat bottled offerings under it. Simply Delish! recently launched its bottled products, consisting of Crispy Tuyo Flakes, Relish Tuyo Flakes, Spicy Tuyo Flakes and Fresh Basil Pesto. The brand also includes a frozen line whose initial offerings are Beef Belly Tapa and Beef Tenderloin Salpicao.

Diana introduced her new brand and products are featured in the ongoing World Food Expo 2026 (WOFEX 2026) being staged at SMX Convention Center, Pasay City until 1 August. Her booth is located on the second floor of the exhibition building and is constantly packed with guests checking out her delectable products.

“When I paused my catering business, I knew I would still continue to stay in the food world,” Diana says. “My bottled tuyo had always been a crowd favorite even before, so I thought of adding other variants and coming up with more products. I want the public to know that my offerings are versatile.”

Happily building a new brand and confident that it will become as successful as her previous ventures, Diana still adheres to her motto of “Quality Above All, Service Without Compromise.” Her Simply Delish! Products will be the judge of that.
