La Union Police Provincial Office director Col. Redentor C. Ulsano visited two educational institutions Monday to reassure students and school officials as authorities investigate a series of bomb threats circulated on social media.
Ulsano conducted security inspections at CICOSAT Colleges in Barangay Lingsat, San Fernando, and Lorma Colleges Basic Education Schools in Urbiztondo, San Juan, following online threats directed at multiple schools and businesses across the province.
During the visits, Ulsano met with administrators, faculty, security personnel and students to discuss security measures and emphasize the need for vigilance.
Ulsano disclosed that investigators have monitored no immediate threat to public safety and are actively pursuing leads to identify and prosecute those responsible for the online messages.
He also urged students and residents to immediately report any information related to the threats, stressing that community cooperation is vital to resolving the investigation and preventing unnecessary panic.
Along with addressing security concerns, Ulsano urged students to use social media responsibly and encouraged qualified individuals to apply for the Philippine National Police Academy Cadet Admission Test.
All police stations and mobile force units under LUPPO have intensified province-wide security operations, increasing foot patrols, site inspections, and school visits to deter potential threats and maintain public order.
