    Isang malakas na lindol na may 7.1 na magnitude ang tumama sa timog-kanlurang bahagi ng Japan noong Martes, ayon sa Japan Meteorological Agency, na agad naglabas ng babala ng tsunami.

    Naganap ang pagyanig alas-4:27 ng hapon (0727 GMT) sa isla ng Kyushu at umabot sa antas pito (Level 7) sa Shindo scale ng Japan, ang pinakamataas na antas ng tindi ng pagyanig sa naturang sukatan, ayon sa ahensya.

    Sinabi rin ng ahensya na ang tsunami ay maaaring umabot sa isang metro (tatlong talampakan) ang taas at inaasahang darating bandang alas-5:00 ng hapon (0800 GMT).

    Iniulat ng broadcaster na NHK na posibleng naitala na ang mga alon na umabot sa naturang taas.

    Noong 25 Hunyo, isang lindol na may 7.2 na magnitude ang tumama sa hilagang bahagi ng Japan, ngunit wala itong naitalang nasawi o malaking pinsala.
