Lexus Philippines joined Toyota Motor Philippines’ Road Trek for the first time and added three premium models to the annual media drive in Cebu.

The 19th edition brought participants to Daanbantayan under the theme “Choose Happiness, Choose Toyota.” Toyota and Lexus vehicles travelled between destinations across the province, which gave members of the motoring media time behind the wheel throughout the Cebu route.

The Lexus GX Overtrail took on the more adventurous role in the group. It uses full-time four-wheel drive and terrain management systems that help it travel beyond paved roads.

The Overtrail package also gives the SUV hardware suited to rougher routes, while its cabin keeps the quiet and comfort expected from Lexus.

The Lexus LMh offered a different kind of trip. The flagship luxury mover places more attention on its passengers through first-class seating and cabin features based on the Japanese idea of Omotenashi.

This approach centers on anticipating what guests may need during the journey rather than waiting for them to ask.

The Lexus NXh completed the brand’s Road Trek lineup. The crossover uses a self-charging hybrid system that supports better fuel use and lower emissions, while owners do not need to plug it in. Its size and layout also make it better suited to daily driving than the larger GX and LMh.

Toyota fielded a larger group of vehicles during the Cebu drive. Its hybrid models included the RAV4, Alphard, Corolla Cross GR-S HEV and ATIV HEV. The Land Cruiser FJ and Hilux represented the internal combustion engine side of the lineup.

This was also how Toyota Motor Philippines presented its Multi-Pathway Strategy to the participating media. The company does not rely on one answer for every buyer and continues to carry internal combustion and hybrid choices across different vehicle types.

Lexus adds another level to that selection through electrified models with more focus on cabin comfort and craftsmanship.

Road Trek 19 also included a community activity for transport groups in Danao, Cebu. Automobile Association Philippines assistant vice president for Road Safety Advocacies Cynthia Reyes conducted a workshop on road safety and fuel efficiency.

Lexus’ first appearance expanded the type of vehicles available during the drive. Media participants could move from Toyota’s mainstream models to vehicles for buyers who place more value on cabin comfort, premium materials and added off-road equipment.

The debut also placed Lexus within a familiar Toyota event rather than treating the brand as a separate showcase.

The GX Overtrail covered rough-road travel, while the LMh centered on passenger comfort. The NXh showed a more practical path into hybrid use.

That gave the Cebu drive a fuller view of what the Toyota and Lexus range now covers. Buyers may have different budgets and priorities, although the choices now stretch from practical daily vehicles to luxury models suited to longer trips.
