Nxled preyed on depleted Capital1 in a masterful, 25-17, 25-23, 25-18, sweep to etch its first win in the 2026 Premier Volleyball League (PVL) On Tour Showdown on Saturday at the Chavit Coliseum in Vigan City, Ilocos Sur.

Veterans Myla Pablo and Jonah Sabete-Escamillan shouldered the scoring load as the Chameleons rebounded from an opening game loss earlier this month.

Pablo pumped in 17 points on 12 kills, four kill blocks and an ace to lead Nxled’s assault against a Solar Spikers side missing the services of Alas Pilipinas members Bella Belen, Vanie Gandler and Erika Santos.

“Very happy that we got the win and we were applying what we trained in the past few days,” Pablo said.

“In our first game against Creamline, we committed a lot of errors. We’re able to control our errors this time.”

Escamillan scored 13 points built on nine kills, two aces and a pair of kill blocks while adding 17 digs and seven excellent receptions for the Chameleons, who did a better job protecting the net.

Nxled tallied 10 kill blocks and played solid service reception for a more fluid transition offense compared to its performance in a four-set loss to the Cool Smashers in Ilagan City, Isabela last 8 July.

“To be honest, I think we really enjoyed playing today. It was super fun. Some interruptions, you know, in the format of the game,” Chameleons head coach Ettore Guidetti said.

“We reacted well every time. I’m really happy that everybody had the opportunity to play. All my players are very good. Especially the defense had been super nice and I also saw in the crowd that they enjoyed the game.”

The Chameleons spoiled the debut of second overall pick in the recent Draft, libero Detdet Pepito, by punishing the Capital1 rookie with relentless attacks and winning long rallies that added to the frustrations of the Solar Spikers.

Nxled had all the answers to Capital1’s rallies especially in the tail end of the second and third sets.

The Solar Spikers kept it close in the second frame and gave the Chameleons a scare after saving two set points to close in, 24-23. Escamillan halted Capital1’s rally with a checked long spike as Nxled averted collapse.

Capital1 trimmed its deficit in the closing stretch of the third set to 20-18 after a Yssa Jimenez hit. Escamillan quickly answered with a spike to trigger a 5-0 finishing kick punctuated by an EJ Laure-Carino ace.

No Solar Spiker reached double-figure scoring as Shaya Adorador finished with six.

Jimenez, Sydney Niegos and Trisha Genesis had five each while rookie Khy Cepada debuted with four points for Capital1.
