    Games on 8 August:

    (City of Santiago, Isabela)

    4 p.m. — ZUS Coffee vs PLDT

    6:30 p.m. — Capital1 vs Creamline

Veteran winger Myla Pablo went out swinging from all angles to power Nxled to back-to-back wins at the expense of Galeries Tower, 25-23, 25-23, 25-20, in the South Cotabato stop of the 2026 Premier Volleyball League (PVL) On Tour Showdown on Saturday.

Pablo entertained the crowd inside the Polomolok Gymnasium with her scoring prowess as the Chameleons kept the Highrisers at bay for a 2-1 win-loss record.

The former Most Valuable Player punched in 13 of her 14 points on attacks while adding one kill block for Nxled, which unleashed a crucial 5-0 run heading into the final stretch of the third set on its way to a one-hour, 44-minute sweep.

EJ Laure-Carino and MJ Phillips added nine points each while Jonah Sabete-Escamillan finished with six points for the Chameleons. Setter Gel Cayuna tallied 16 excellent sets while Irah Jaboneta had 12 excellent receptions and six digs.

“Well, I think we played a good game altogether. The players showed their real value, and against teams like Galeries, which have a very good serve and a very good block, we know we’ve got to fight,” Chameleons head coach Ettore Guidetti said.

“We are simply trying to take away the little mistakes and show some little coverage, and I think we played really good,” added the Italian mentor.

Galeries Tower gave the Chameleons a tough time in the first two sets and again threatened to turn the tables around after cutting Nxled’s five-point lead to just one, 17-16, in the third frame.

A down-the-line kill by Jovelyn Fernandez kindled the Chameleons’ five unanswered points, aided by the Highrisers’ costly errors, for a 22-16 separation.

Galeries Tower made one final push, scoring three in a row to close in to within three before Aduke Ogunsanya scored a hit to halt the uprising, followed by a Jade Gentapa attack error as Nxled reached match point.

Gentapa saved a point but Pablo sealed the win with a thunderous spike.

Nxled will close its pre-season campaign on 15 August against Farm Fresh when the league visits Lanao del Norte.

Erika Deloria led the Highrisers with 13 points, all from kills, with 16 excellent receptions and seven digs, but her effort wasn’t enough to save her team from sliding to a 1-1 slate.

Jean Asis added 11 points on five kill blocks and six attacks while setter Julia Coronel dished out 19 excellent sets for Galeries Tower.

The Highrisers return to action on 22 August against Creamline in a yet to be determined stop.
