Shocked by the news, Dimples Romana instinctively covered her signature dimples with both hands after learning that her friend, Bea Alonzo, had finally tied the knot with Puregold Price Club Inc. president Vincent Co. The actress shared her reaction during an interview with the DAILY TRIBUNE last week.
“I love it!” she said of how Bea and Vincent surprised everyone with a simple and private wedding ceremony officiated by Mayor Nancy Binay at the Makati City Hall last 13 July.
“I guess, the best things in life are not free but simple,” Dimples noted. “Simple — having a family, having somebody to love you and you love them back.”
According to her, Bea and Vincent’s simple wedding made a timely statement, especially with news of inflation, wars and the flood control scandal, or as DAILY TRIBUNE dubbed, the “Floodgate.”
“At this point na sinusubok tayo ng panahon (that times are testing us), with all the fuel crisis and the war happening, you know, doesn’t mean that just we’re not part of it, we’re not heavily affected by it. Nakita naman natin ‘yung mga kunsumo natin ngayon, kaya mas naging mapanuri tayo sa mga bagay (We’ve seen how prices of our consumption have gone up, so we have to be more meticulous about things),” she said.
“Ngayon, na-realize ko, sa hirap ng buhay, gumising ka lang nang humihinga ka, wala kang sakit (Now, I realized that, because of how hard life is today, just waking up in the morning, being able to breathe and being free from sickness), is a blessing on its own.”
When asked for her marriage advice for Bea, Dimples said: “Bea has a good head on top of her shoulders. Good heart, too! She’s so ready to love, to nurture people. You know how much she loves her family, so now that she’s about to start her own family with Vincent, I can only see the best for both of them. You know, we only wish for the best not only for our friends but also for people who have always been there — loving them, loving their families. Bea is so kind to her family, to her siblings, and I’ve been a big witness of that. So I’m excited for her.”
“You know what, Bea and I have been friends for what, two decades? Because we were 16 (when we first met). In fact, we’ve been friends for more than half of our lives,” Dimples shared at the sidelines of Wipro Enterprises’ Consumer Care event in Shangri-La The Fort, Bonifacio Global City, Taguig City.

“I’m very protective as a mother. I became a mom very young and that’s when I learned all the things that I needed to learn as a mom. As you know, parenting doesn’t come with a manual, so I went through everything with difficulty. It wasn’t easy for me especially because I became a mother very young. So with all the kids now getting older — imagine, I have now a 22-year-old, then Alonzo (second child) is a grade schooler, and I have a preschooler (Elio), so I make sure that having even a simple alcohol from our house to our car, has become a part of our lives,” shared the celebrity mom.
