Pag-IBIG Fund has released P5.82 billion in Special Assistance for Financial Emergencies (SAFE) loans to 803,769 members less than six weeks after the program was launched on 10 June. Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development Secretary Jose Ramon Aliling, who chairs the Pag-IBIG Fund Board of Trustees, said the program provides members with ready and affordable financial assistance during difficult times.
Under the SAFE Loan program, qualified members may borrow up to P10,000 or 90 percent of their total Pag-IBIG Regular Savings, whichever is lower. The loan carries a 5.95 percent annual interest rate, is payable over 12, 24 or 36 months, and comes with a three-month grace period before repayments begin.
Applicants must have at least 12 monthly savings, be active members and have no existing Pag-IBIG loan defaults.
Pag-IBIG chief executive officer Marilene Acosta said the strong take-up reflects the agency’s commitment to helping members meet immediate financial needs while continuing to provide affordable housing loans.
The SAFE Loan program is open until 8 September 2026. Members may apply through Virtual Pag-IBIG or at any Pag-IBIG branch nationwide.
