Police Regional Office 1 (PRO 1) has called on the public to stop making and spreading bomb and shooting threats, warning that those found responsible will face criminal charges under existing laws.

The appeal comes after a series of bomb and shooting threats were reported in schools across Pangasinan, particularly in the municipalities of Rosales, Mangaldan, Sto. Tomas, Lingayen, and Balungao.

Authorities said investigations revealed that some of those responsible for circulating the threats were minors, who are now undergoing the appropriate legal process in accordance with existing laws.

PRO 1 emphasized that bomb and shooting threats are serious offenses and warned that anyone proven to have participated in making or spreading such threats may be held criminally liable. Police also stressed that accountability under the law applies regardless of a person's age, gender, race, or social status.

The regional police office said it will continue conducting thorough investigations to identify and prosecute those behind the incidents.

At the same time, PRO 1 urged parents, guardians, schools, and community stakeholders to help educate young people about responsible citizenship and the serious legal consequences of acts that endanger public safety.

PBGEN Jovencio S. Badua Jr., regional director of PRO 1, said bomb and shooting threats should never be treated as jokes because they create fear and disrupt communities.

"Walang puwang sa ating lipunan ang mga gawaing nagdudulot ng takot at pangamba sa publiko, at hindi ito dapat ituring na biro sa anumang pagkakataon," Badua said.

He added that under the PRO 1's Enhanced A.L.E.R.T.O. Framework, the regional police will continue strengthening law enforcement efforts and coordination with communities to help keep schools and neighborhoods safe.

PRO 1 also appealed to the public to support peace and order by using all forms of communication responsibly and complying with the law.
