Police seized more than ₱1.57 million worth of illegal drugs and arrested 104 suspected drug personalities during a weeklong anti-illegal drug campaign across Southern Metro Manila, the Southern Police District (SPD) said.
The operations, conducted from 6 July to 12, covered the cities of Makati, Taguig, Pasay, Parañaque, Las Piñas and Muntinlupa, resulting in 86 anti-drug operations that led to the arrest of 84 alleged drug users and 20 suspected drug pushers.
According to the SPD, authorities confiscated approximately 224.78 grams of shabu, 1.85 grams of marijuana, 23.49 grams of kush, and eight vape cartridges containing marijuana or cannabis oil.
The seized contraband had a total estimated value of ₱1,579,112 based on the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency's standard drug price.
Among the district's operating units, the Taguig City Police Station posted the highest number of arrests, accounting for 31 of the 104 suspects apprehended during the week. It also recorded the largest volume of confiscated illegal drugs, valued at ₱661,978.
The SPD said all arrested suspects will face charges for violations of Republic Act No. 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
