Mitsubishi Motors Philippines Corporation has introduced the updated Mirage G4 with new exterior details and added safety features across the range.
The locally assembled sedan now comes with Hill Start Assist and Active Stability Control as standard on all variants. These systems help the driver manage uphill starts and maintain control when the tires lose grip on slippery roads.
The GLX CVT and GLS CVT variants also receive LED projector headlamps and LED tail lights. Mitsubishi has fitted all versions with a new two-tone alloy wheel design, which gives the sedan a sharper appearance without changing its familiar shape.
The Mirage G4 has been sold in the Philippines since 2013. It remains one of Mitsubishi’s main volume models and has often served as an entry point for first-time car buyers. Its compact dimensions also suit city roads, tight parking spaces and daily commutes.
Power still comes from a 1.2-liter three-cylinder MIVEC gasoline engine. Buyers may choose between a five-speed manual transmission for the GLX or a continuously variable transmission for the GLX CVT and GLS CVT.
Mitsubishi retained the engine and gearbox choices as fuel economy remains one of the Mirage G4’s main selling points. The sedan was designed for regular city use, where light steering, manageable size and lower running costs matter to many owners.
Standard safety equipment includes two front airbags, an anti-lock braking system and electronic brakeforce distribution. A reversing camera is available on the GLS variant.
The Mirage G4 also keeps its seven-inch touchscreen with wired Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Drivers can use compatible navigation, music and communication apps through their smartphones.
Its trunk has a capacity of 450 liters. The space can hold grocery bags, luggage or a folded child stroller. The rear seat also gives the Mirage G4 enough room for small families and passengers who need a basic sedan for work and personal trips.
The top GLS trim adds a keyless operation system, automatic climate control, a remote key with a trunk release button and other convenience features.
Mitsubishi continues to assemble the Mirage G4 at its plant in Santa Rosa, Laguna. The model remains among the few passenger cars produced in the Philippines.
Customers may choose from Titanium Gray Metallic, Red Metallic, Cool Silver Metallic and White Solid. White Solid units are available on an order basis.
Prices start at P793,000 for the Mirage G4 GLX 1.2 manual. The GLX 1.2 CVT costs P841,000, while the GLS 1.2 CVT is priced at P937,000.
The latest changes do not alter the Mirage G4’s basic formula. It remains a small and practical sedan, although buyers now get more safety equipment and a few visual updates without moving far from the model they already know.
