The Kanlaon Volcano Observatory (KVO) Network of the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS) reported that summit conditions at Mount Kanlaon on Saturday cannot be observed due to heavy clouds surrounding the area.
“The summit condition cannot be observed due to heavy clouds covering the area”, the resident volcanologist Mari-Andylene Quintia told the DAILY TRIBUNE in an exclusive Viber interview.
In the latest 24-hour monitoring bulletin of PHIVOLCS, from 12 a.m. Friday [July 10] to 12 a. m. Saturday [July 11], six (6) volcanic earthquakes have been recorded from Mount Kanlaon.
The state volcanology institute, however, noted that the volcano was covered by clouds, preventing plume observation as one of its monitoring parameters.
Meanwhile, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) reported that Super Typhoon Inday with an international name “Bavi” had exited the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) as of 8 a.m.
