A total of 1,200 college students from Pangasinan's Fourth District received P5,000 each in educational assistance during a payout held at the Dagupan City Plaza for Academic Year 2026–2027.

The distribution, conducted on June 26, amounted to P6 million in financial assistance and was implemented by the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) in coordination with the office of Pangasinan Fourth District Rep. Gina "Manay Gina" de Venecia.

According to the congresswoman's office, the assistance is intended to help students defray education-related expenses, including tuition, school supplies, transportation, and other school requirements.

Beneficiaries received their assistance through what organizers described as an orderly and efficient payout process.

De Venecia said education remains one of the priorities of her office, describing it as a key pillar of her legislative platform. She added that expanding access to educational opportunities continues to be among the programs her office supports in the district.

Her office also noted that educational assistance initiatives have been implemented in the Fourth District for decades, tracing the program's roots to the tenure of former House Speaker Jose de Venecia Jr. The initiative is now being continued by Rep. de Venecia and former congressman Christopher "Toff" de Venecia.

The educational assistance program was carried out with support from the DSWD as part of efforts to provide financial aid to qualified college students pursuing higher education.
