La Union police inspect SAR assets ahead 'Inday'

The La Union Police Provincial Office (LUPPO) has inspected its search and rescue (SAR) equipment as part of its preparations for the possible impact of Super Typhoon Inday.
The inspection was conducted on July 8 at the Marangal Grandstand inside Camp Diego Silang in Barangay Carlatan, San Fernando City.
Police Major Arnold R. Peran, the designated Staff Duty Officer, led the accounting and inspection of the provincial police office’s disaster response assets to verify their operational readiness.
According to LUPPO, the inspection aimed to ensure that all SAR equipment is functional, reliable, and logistically prepared for immediate deployment should rescue and emergency response operations be needed.
The activity was carried out under the direction of Provincial Director Police Colonel Redentor C. Ulsano as the provincial police intensified disaster preparedness measures ahead of the expected effects of the approaching typhoon.
Authorities said the inspection forms part of the police force’s readiness efforts to support local disaster response and ensure personnel and equipment are prepared for possible emergencies.
