The Department of Justice (DoJ) conducted a one-stop shop (OSS) to provide essential government services to refugees and other persons of concern (POCs) as part of the week-long observance of National Refugee Day 2026.
The initiative was led by the DoJ’s Refugees and Stateless Persons Protection Unit (RSPPU), chair of the Inter-Agency Committee (IAC) for the Protection of Refugees and Stateless Persons under Executive Order No. 163, Series of 2022.
The OSS enabled refugees and other POCs to access multiple government services in a single venue, including the issuance of identity documents, registration, employment assistance, legal aid, referrals to government agencies and GCash account registration.
More than 100 POCs, including families, women and children, benefited from the program.
Joining the DoJ-RSPPU were the Department of Social Welfare and Development, the IAC co-chair, and member agencies including the Department of Foreign Affairs, Department of Labor and Employment, Department of Trade and Industry, Department of Transportation, Professional Regulation Commission, Bureau of Immigration, Philippine Health Insurance Corp., Philippine Statistics Authority, Public Attorney’s Office and Technical Education and Skills Development Authority.
