Baguio driver Kiel Rafanan made his first Gymkhana Pilipinas (GP) outing count after taking the top honors in the 2026 GP Match 2 at the R33 Drift Track.
Rafanan was the fastest among more than 40 drivers in the June 14 event. He clocked a best time of 39.01 seconds in D Class in his white-and-blue Honda Civic EF race car.
The result earned him the GP Fastest Driver of the Day award and the GP Best Newbie prize. He also received GP merchandise and two free entry vouchers for future GP events this season.
Rafanan also won first place in E Class and F Class. He added a second-place finish in C Class.
He said the result came as a surprise since it was his first time in the series. Rafanan said the win made the work, preparation and support from his family, friends and team worth it.
GP Match 2 had 12 classes. Regular classes included six displacement-based categories and the Best Bakal Class, which was open to all vehicles. Special classes covered rear-wheel drive, front-wheel drive, electrified vehicles, crossover/MPV and utility vehicles.
The event was held under the R33 Cars Motorsport Fest, which also celebrated R33 Cars founder and veteran racer Raymond Ronquillo.
