RELIEF packs are handed over to residents of Barangay Burias in Sarangani after the earthquake disrupted homes, roads and access to basic supplies.
Isuzu Philippines Corporation (IPC) supports 250 households in Barangay Burias after the Glan earthquake disrupts homes, roads and access to supplies.
Isuzu Philippines Corporation (IPC) has sent relief assistance to families affected by the recent earthquake in Glan, Sarangani, with support from Isuzu General Santos and the local government unit of Barangay Burias.
The relief activity reached 250 families in Barangay Burias, one of the communities hit hard by the quake. Each family received packs with hygiene kits, bottled water and food supplies.
The assistance came after the earthquake damaged homes, blocked roads and affected access to markets and basic goods. Local stores also sustained damage, which made it harder for residents to buy daily needs.
IPC gave special attention to senior citizens and families from nearby coastal communities. Many of them faced added difficulty after road obstructions slowed the flow of goods and services into the area.
Imelda Bernas, IPC assistant vice president for Administration, represented the company during the turnover. She said IPC wants to remain present in communities, especially during difficult periods.
“IPC believes that being a responsible corporate citizen means standing beside our communities, especially during difficult times. Through this relief initiative, we hope to provide not only essential supplies but also encouragement and reassurance to the families of Barangay Burias as they recover from the effects of the earthquake.” Bernas said.
“We are grateful to our partners at Isuzu General Santos and the barangay local government unit for making this meaningful initiative possible.”
Barangay captain Venancio Siao Wata III thanked IPC and Isuzu General Santos for the assistance given to residents.
“On behalf of the people of Barangay Burias, we sincerely thank Isuzu Philippines Corporation and Isuzu General Santos for their generosity and compassion,” Wata said.
“Your support has brought much-needed relief to our residents, particularly our senior citizens and families who continue to face the challenges brought about by the earthquake. Your kindness reminds our community that we are not alone during these difficult times.”
IPC said the activity continues its social responsibility work, with focus on partnerships that respond to community needs.
