The Mount Kanlaon in Negros Island logged two ash emissions on Saturday morning, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS) reported.
The first ash emission occurred at 5:02 a.m. to 5:48 a.m., lasting 46 minutes.
"This event generated grayish plumes that rose 300 meters above the crater before drifting southwest, as captured by the IP camera at Mansalanao Observation Station (VKMN)," PHIVOLCS said.
Meanwhile, according to Kanlaon Volcano Obsevatory (KVO), the second emission happened at 6:05 to 6:30 in the morning with same weak-voluminous 300-meter grayish plume drifting southwest.
"No recorded ashfall [in nearby communities]", resident volcanologist Mari-Andylene Quintia told the DAILY TRIBUNE in a Viber message.
PHIVOLCS, however, announced Alert Level 2 remains in effect over Kanlaon Volcano.
