Bini’s growing global influence has earned the nation’s girl group a new distinction: Ambassadors for Philippine tourism.
The eight-member act — composed of Aiah, Colet, Maloi, Gwen, Stacey, Mikha, Jhoanna and Sheena — was recently tapped by the Department of Tourism (DoT) to help showcase the country’s destinations, culture and hospitality to the world.
The group paid a courtesy visit to DoT Secretary Maria Bernardita 'Dita' Angara-Mathay on 3 July.
Angara-Mathay said she was impressed by how each member spoke passionately about her hometown, noting that their personal stories could help introduce different parts of the country to a wider audience.
“What struck me during our meeting was that every member represents a province or city and genuinely knows what makes her hometown unique,” Angara-Mathay said. “Each of them has something meaningful to contribute in promoting Philippine tourism.”
Bini’s appointment reflects a broader effort to tap globally recognized Filipinos in encouraging more visitors to experience the country firsthand. DoT also sees the group’s influence among younger audiences as an opportunity to present the Philippines through a fresh and contemporary lens.
The timing comes as Bini gears up for its Signals World Tour, which will take the group across Asia, Europe and North America.
Bini became the first Filipino act to perform at the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival, a breakthrough that introduced P-pop to one of the world’s biggest music events.
Bini's global footprint continues to expand through billions of music streams, an ever-growing international fanbase and hit songs such as “Pantropiko,” “Cherry On Top,” “Blink Twice,” “Shagidi,” “Bikini” and “Sweet Tooth.” The group’s appearances at international events, including KCON Los Angeles, along with collaborations and global recognition, have further established Bini as one of the leading faces of Filipino pop.
