Aboitiz Renewables inaugurates 92.55-MWp solar plant in Pangasinan

The newly operational 92.55-MWp San Manuel facility reinforces the growing clean energy portfolio of Aboitiz Renewables in Northern Luzon.
Aboitiz Renewables Inc. (ARI), the renewable energy arm of Aboitiz Power Corp. (AboitizPower), has inaugurated its 92.55-megawatt peak (MWp) San Manuel Solar Power Plant in Pangasinan, expanding its solar portfolio in Northern Luzon and supporting the country’s renewable energy goals.
The facility, which supplies power directly to the Luzon grid through the San Manuel 69-kilovolt substation, was developed in coordination with the National Grid Corp. of the Philippines, local government units, and host communities.
The inauguration was attended by Energy Secretary Sharon Garin, Pangasinan Vice Governor Mark DG. Lambino, San Manuel Mayor Kenneth Marco S. Perez, San Manuel Vice Mayor Alain Jerico S. Perez, and Binalonan Vice Mayor Bryan Louie Ramirez Balangue.
Garin highlighted the significance of the project in providing stable and affordable electricity while supporting local communities and the country’s energy transition.
The San Manuel facility is Aboitiz Renewables’ third solar power plant in Pangasinan, joining the 154-MWp Laoag 1 and 2 solar plants and the 94-MWp Cayanga-Bugallon solar power plant.
AboitizPower President and Chief Executive Officer Danel Aboitiz said investments in power generation projects such as the San Manuel plant are essential to strengthening the country’s energy system, diversifying the power mix, and supporting long-term energy security. He noted that the company’s attributable net sellable renewable energy capacity has grown from around 900 megawatts in 2020 to 2.3 gigawatts today.
Aboitiz Renewables President Jimmy A. Villaroman said the company remains committed to expanding renewable energy development through partnerships with government agencies and local communities.
According to the company, its clean energy portfolio now includes 45 renewable energy facilities across the Philippines, covering solar, hydro, geothermal, and energy storage projects. The company also has a development pipeline of more than 1,800 megawatts in solar, hydro, and wind projects.
The newly operational San Manuel Solar Power Plant further strengthens Aboitiz Renewables’ growing clean energy presence in Northern Luzon and supports efforts to increase the share of renewable energy in the country’s power mix.
