TACLOBAN CITY — Police have launched a manhunt for three unidentified suspects who allegedly abducted former Abuyog, Leyte Vice Mayor James Bohol and his son in Mayorga, Leyte on Saturday afternoon.
According to the Philippine National Police, the victims, James Bohol and his son Carlo James Bohol, both businessmen, were forcibly taken at around 1 p.m. in Barangay Sta. Cruz, Mayorga.
Initial reports said the two were traveling in their vehicle when they were flagged down by the suspects and forced into a white Toyota Vios, which was used as the getaway vehicle.
Authorities have yet to determine the identities of the suspects and the motive behind the abduction.
Police are also verifying unconfirmed reports that the getaway vehicle was later seen in a government housing village in Barangay Tingib, Basey, Samar.
Search operations and follow-up investigations are ongoing.
