The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) announced on Wednesday that certain Filipino passport holders are now eligible for a visa-on-arrival when traveling to the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
The new policy took effect on 25 June. To be eligible, citizens must hold a valid passport alongside a current visa, residence permit, or Green Card from regions including the US, Canada, EU member states, Australia, New Zealand, Japan, Singapore, or South Korea.
Travelers can choose between two main entry options depending on their length of stay:
14-Day Visa: Costs 100 United Arab Emirates Dirhams (AED). This option can be renewed a single time for an extra 14 days for a fee of AED 250.
60-Day Visa: Costs AED 250 but cannot be extended.
According to the DFA, this travel privilege was granted as a reflection of the strong and positive bilateral relationship between the Philippines and the UAE.
