Filipino-British actress Eve Ridley is stepping into the DC Universe as Ruthye Marie Knoll in Supergirl and she admits booking the role took some time to fully sink in.
Ridley revealed that after a lengthy audition process, she was overwhelmed when she finally received the call confirming her casting.
In the upcoming film, Ridley plays Ruthye, a determined young woman seeking justice for her murdered family. Her character teams up with Kara Zor-El, played by Milly Alcock, on a dangerous interstellar mission fueled by revenge and redemption. Ridley noted that Ruthye’s serious and disciplined nature often clashes with Kara’s more carefree personality, creating a dynamic she found both entertaining and compelling.
The actress also praised her co-stars, particularly Alcock, whom she described as a “big sister” on set. Ridley recalled being genuinely intimidated when she first met Matthias Schoenaerts in full costume as the villain Krem, an experience that unexpectedly helped her performance. She also shared a lighthearted story about Jason Momoa, who plays Lobo, saying he constantly checked that the sharp details on his costume were not hurting her during filming.
Supergirl, now showing in Philippine cinemas, marks Ridley’s biggest film role to date following her work on the TV series The Witcher and 3 Body Problem.
