LaVie Resort & Casino Manila welcomed the Lunar New Year with a celebration that combined traditional rituals and contemporary luxury, drawing dignitaries, industry leaders and VIP guests to its integrated resort on 25 February.

The property transformed into a vibrant stage of ceremony and spectacle, marking the start of the lunar calendar and signaling what organizers described as a renewed commitment to prosperity and shared success.

Among those in attendance were Mr. Ivannovich Agote, Regulation Division Chief of the Department of Tourism, Hon. Chairman Edwin Tan and Hon. Chairman Jun, highlighting the event’s relevance within the tourism and hospitality sector.

One of the key highlights was the Eye Dotting Ceremony, a Chinese tradition symbolizing the awakening of the lion and believed to bring protection, luck and prosperity.

The program opened with a performance by the LaVie Vibes dancers, setting the tone for the afternoon’s festivities. This was followed by a symbolic gathering of resort leadership and partners to underscore unity and collaboration.

The Lion and Dragon Dance Exhibition formed the centerpiece of the celebration. Accompanied by traditional drums, the performance moved across the property in a ritual said to drive away misfortune and invite strength and abundance. A ceremonial fruit offering followed, symbolizing harmony and flourishing ventures in the year ahead.

A defining moment came with the Eye Dotting Ceremony, during which blessings were invoked over the resort and its guests for the coming year.

The celebration continued outdoors with a Firecracker Ceremony and Parade, as bursts echoed across the grounds to mark the dispelling of negative energy and the arrival of good fortune. Lion dancers proceeded through key areas of the resort, extending the ritual throughout the property.

Tarot readers were also stationed around the venue, offering personalized readings to guests seeking guidance as they entered the new year.

The evening concluded with a grand lion dance finale, capping off the celebration with a flourish of music and movement.

As the Year of the Horse begins, LaVie Resort & Casino Manila positions itself as both a gaming and hospitality destination and a venue where global traditions are observed alongside modern entertainment experiences.
