Housing officials on Friday began turning over newly completed residential units to beneficiaries in Valenzuela City, marking a milestone for the administration’s flagship “Pambansang Pabahay” program.
Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development (DHSUD) Secretary Jose Ramon Aliling and National Housing Authority (NHA) general manager Joeben Tai led the inauguration of the Arkong Bato Disiplina Village. The project reached initial occupancy less than two years after its 2023 groundbreaking.
The development, located on M.H. Del Pilar Street in Barangay Arkong Bato, is designed to include 20 buildings housing approximately 1,000 units. The project specifically targets informal settler families displaced by the ongoing Manila Bay cleanup program.
“The Arkong Bato Disiplina Village project once again proves the fulfillment of the vision of Ferdinand Marcos Jr. to deliver decent, safe, and affordable housing to Filipino families,” Aliling said during the ceremony.
The Arkong Bato site is a key component of the Expanded Pambansang Pabahay Para sa Pilipino (4PH) program, the government’s primary strategy to reduce the national housing backlog.
In a separate activity, the DHSUD and the Social Housing Finance Corp. distributed certificates of lot allocation to residents of Barangay Wawang Pulo. The distribution was part of the community mortgage component of the 4PH initiative.
DHSUD Senior Undersecretary Eduardo Robles Jr., who heads the 4PH Project Management Office, joined Aliling and Tai for the turnover rites.
