Mayor Francisco “Isko Moreno” Domagoso on Friday reported a 13.08 percent decline in crime incidents during the final quarter of 2025, attributing the drop to intensified enforcement and improved police coordination.
Speaking at the 125th founding anniversary of the Manila Police District (MPD), Domagoso presented data showing that recorded cases fell to 1,834 in the fourth quarter, down from 2,110 in the previous three-month period.
The mayor also noted a 9.2 percent increase in crime solution efficiency during his administration’s first 100 days, signaling that a higher percentage of perpetrators are being identified and apprehended.
“Many are called, but few are chosen,” Domagoso told the gathered officers. “On behalf of the people of Manila, I would like to thank MPD chief Gen. Arnold Abad, the officers of their respective precincts, and those who are patrolling these streets.”
During the ceremony, the mayor issued a stern warning to criminal elements, vowing that the city would exhaust its legal resources to ensure offenders face justice.
“If you commit a crime in Manila, you will have a place to answer for it. We will go after you,” Domagoso said.
He stressed that all enforcement actions would remain within the bounds of the law, stating that suspects would face “the office of the judge and the prosecutor.”
To support continued operations, Domagoso announced the release of P26.03 million in allowances for MPD personnel covering the fourth quarter of 2025.
Following the anniversary program, the mayor traveled to Chiang Kai Shek College to formally accept a donation of 20 motorcycles. The vehicles are intended to enhance patrol mobility and increase police visibility throughout the capital.
Domagoso thanked the college and other private sector partners for their role in maintaining peace and order in the city.
