CAMP OLIVAS, Pampanga — More than P855,000 worth of high-grade marijuana was seized following a successful buy-bust operation in Olongapo City that led to the arrest of two major drug suspects, the Police Regional Office 3 (PRO3) reported Tuesday.
According to PRO3, the operation was conducted at around 3:35 a.m. on February 10 along Limbas Street in Barangay New Cabalan. Personnel from the Olongapo City Police Drug Enforcement Unit and Police Station 4 intercepted the two suspects, classified as newly identified High-Value Individuals (HVIs).
Authorities recovered seven heat-sealed plastic sachets containing roughly 490 grams of “Kush,” a potent variety of high-grade marijuana valued at P735,000. One kilogram of standard marijuana worth P120,000 was also seized, along with the marked buy-bust money.
PRO3 Regional Director PBGEN Ponce Rogelio I. Peñones Jr. said the haul reflects the region’s intensified intelligence-driven campaign against illegal narcotics. The regional office noted that the operation is part of a wider effort to prevent dangerous substances from reaching local communities.
The two suspects remain in police custody and will face charges under the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. PRO3 said it will continue anti-illegal drug operations across Central Luzon to ensure community safety.
