Actor and entrepreneur Matteo Guidicelli confirmed that no one was seriously injured after a vehicle crashed into the outdoor dining area of his family’s restaurant, Da Gianni Cucina Italiana, on Sunday afternoon.
Reports said that the incident occurred around 4 p.m. at the Westgate Center establishment.
In a Facebook post, Guidicelli cited that the al fresco area was fortunately clear of customers at the time, as the last lunch guests had departed around 1:30 p.m.
Two staff members who were near the pizza oven inside the restaurant were taken to a hospital for medical evaluation. Guidicelli later confirmed that both employees escaped serious injury and are receiving proper care.
“We are thankful that no one was seriously hurt,” Guidicelli wrote, urging the public to remain vigilant and aware of their surroundings.
Photos shared on social media showed significant damage to the restaurant’s exterior and outdoor furniture.
As a precaution, the al fresco section has been temporarily closed for safety inspections and repairs, though indoor dining operations remain open to the public.
Following the crash, supporters and fellow celebrities expressed relief on social media, with some suggesting the installation of additional safety barriers to protect the outdoor seating area from nearby traffic.
Da Gianni Cucina Italiana opened in 2018 as a tribute to Guidicelli’s late grandfather. It is the family’s second major culinary venture, following the 2016 opening of Trattoria da Gianni in Cebu.
