Naga City and the Department of Economy, Planning, and Development (DEPDev) have signed an agreement to launch the use of artificial intelligence (AI) for city planning and transportation.
The initiative is funded by the National Innovation Council (NIC), where DEPDev serves as vice chair. It has a ₱6.79 million fund for implementation.
The program aims to help officials develop better transportation and mobility solutions through the use of data analytics from a platform and application.
The app will allow drivers and pedestrians to easily report road accidents and illegal parking, helping authorities gather data that can be used to improve public transport routes and local land use planning.
