Police arrested a most wanted rape suspect and two high-value drug dealers in Metro Manila during a series of intensified operations over a 24-hour period ending Sunday morning.
The arrests in Marikina and Taguig cities were part of a broader nationwide crackdown that resulted in the seizure of more than P25 million worth of illegal drugs between 31 January and 1 February.
In Marikina City, police captured a fugitive facing multiple counts of rape. The suspect, whose name was not immediately released, is being held without bail.
This arrest was one of four “most wanted” captures made across the country, including operations in Cavite, Isabela and Quezon province.
Meanwhile, a buy-bust operation in Taguig City led to the arrest of two high-value individuals, a man and a woman.
Officers seized 150 grams of suspected shabu with an estimated value of P1.02 million.
“The arrest of wanted persons, especially those involved in serious abuse cases, is clear proof that no one is above the law,” said PNP Chief Police Genereal Jose Melencio Nartatez Jr. “We owe it to the victims and their families to ensure justice is pursued without delay.”
Beyond the capital, the PNP reported a joint operation in Davao City that yielded 12 kilograms of marijuana worth P1.44 million. Additionally, massive eradication efforts in the Cordillera Administrative Region led to the destruction of 95,000 marijuana plants valued at P24.12 million.
