The Philippine National Police (PNP) recorded notable operational gains nationwide following intensified police actions against wanted persons, illegal drugs, and smuggling during the 24-hour period from 8:00 AM of 31 January to 8:00 AM of 1 February 2026.
Police units arrested four (4) most wanted persons in separate, well-coordinated manhunt operations conducted in Cavite, Quezon Province, Marikina City, and Isabela.
One suspect arrested in Cavite is facing two counts of sexual assault under RA 7610, with the court recommending bail amounting to P400,000, while the others—arrested in Marikina City, Isabela, and Quezon Province—are facing multiple counts of rape, with no bail recommended.
All suspects were informed of their rights and are now under police custody, pending court proceedings.
“Ang pag-aresto sa mga wanted persons, lalo na iyong may mabibigat na kasong may kinalaman sa pang-aabuso, ay malinaw na patunay na walang ligtas sa batas,” PNP Chief, Police General Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr. said. “We owe it to the victims and their families to ensure that justice is pursued without delay,” he added.
In intensified anti-illegal drug operations, the PNP confiscated illegal drugs worth P25.14 million, resulting in the arrest of four (4) High-Value Individuals (HVIs).
In Davao City, a joint buy-bust operation led to the arrest of two adult suspects, both identified as HVIs, and the seizure of approximately 12 kilograms of marijuana valued at P1.44 million. Meanwhile, in Taguig City, another buy-bust operation resulted in the arrest of two HVIs, a male and a female, and the confiscation of 150 grams of suspected shabu valued at P1.02 million.
In the Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR), police units conducted extensive marijuana eradication operations across several remote barangays in Benguet and Kalinga, leading to the uprooting and on-site destruction of more than 95,000 marijuana plants, with an estimated value of P24.12 million.
“Hindi lang pag-aresto ang layunin ng ating anti-drug operations—tinatanggal din natin ang mismong pinanggagalingan ng ilegal na droga,” PGEN Nartatez Jr. said. “This is a focused, sustained campaign against both supply and distribution.”
The PNP said these accomplishments reflect the organization’s commitment to the PNP Focused Agenda, particularly in strengthening law enforcement effectiveness, intelligence operations, and inter-agency coordination to combat high-impact crimes.
“The arrest of wanted persons and the seizure of millions worth of illegal drugs reflect our firm resolve to enforce the law without fear or favor. This is a sustained campaign to dismantle criminal networks and ensure public safety,” Nartatez Jr. said.
