Senior citizens in Angono no longer need to travel to hospitals to access basic health services, as doctors now visit them at home under a new local government initiative.

In a statement, Mayor Gerardo “Gerry” Calderon highlighted the Municipal Health Office’s “Doc-To-Door Program,” which brings medical services directly to residents aged 60 and above.

Under the program’s initial rollout, the MHO team visited three senior citizens in Barangay San Pedro, providing free medical services that included vital signs monitoring, laboratory examinations and medical prescriptions with free medicines.

Calderon said the local government plans to expand the program to other barangays across the municipality.

He clarified, however, that the program is initially limited to senior citizens with mobility issues and those who are bedridden.

The mayor urged relatives of eligible patients to coordinate with and register at their respective barangay health centers, which serve as partners of the local government in implementing the program.
