Makati City has been recognized by CDP, an international environmental disclosure organization, as an A-List City for 2025, marking the third consecutive year it has received the distinction, Mayor Nancy Binay said.

CDP’s A-List includes 120 cities worldwide cited for environmental transparency and climate action. In 2025, more than 1,000 cities, states, and regions submitted environmental data through CDP’s reporting platform.

To receive an A score, cities must publicly disclose environmental data, maintain a city-wide greenhouse gas emissions inventory, publish a climate action plan, complete a climate risk and vulnerability assessment, and set climate adaptation goals.

Binay said the recognition reflects the city’s environmental programs and reporting efforts.

“This recognition reflects our continuing commitment to environmental stewardship and climate resilience,” she said.

Makati’s climate initiatives include greenhouse gas emissions inventories, climate risk assessments, and action plans covering infrastructure, transportation, waste management, and disaster preparedness, according to the city government.
