Authorities seized more than P94 million worth of illegal drugs and arrested 673 suspects during the first 20 days of the year, the National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) said Thursday.
It reported conducting 518 anti-drug operations between 1 and 20 January. The sweep resulted in the seizure of 13,772 grams of shabu and 2,125 grams of dried marijuana leaves, with a total estimated value of P94.03 million.
NCRPO chief Maj. Gen. Anthony Aberin said the figures reflect sustained pressure on the distribution of illegal drugs in the capital region.
“Our early accomplishments show the effectiveness of the Enhanced Managing Police Operations under the Focused Agenda of the PNP,” Aberin said. “These results also reflect the discipline, coordination, and commitment of our personnel who remain on the ground every day.”
